In November 2023 at the Lab Innovations and Advanced Engineering show, Applied Integration showcased their innovative robot application featuring the ABB GoFa robot arm and the Cambrian vision system. This remarkable combination demonstrated how advanced robotics and vision technology can seamlessly collaborate to address complex tasks in laboratory environments. The highlight of this demonstration was the precise and efficient picking of clear test tubes, showcasing the unparalleled capabilities of the Cambrian vision system.

The GoFa arm from ABB is known for its flexibility, speed, and safety features, making it an ideal choice for laboratory automation. With its user-friendly interface and seamless integration capabilities, the ABB GoFa played a pivotal role in the success of this innovative solution.

However, we overcame this by incorporating the Cambrian vision system. This state-of-the-art technology utilises advanced image recognition algorithms to identify objects with exceptional clarity and accurately determine their positions, even when they are transparent. The Cambrian vision systems robust features ensure that external lighting conditions do not compromise the accuracy, making it an invaluable asset for laboratory automation.
